SURROGACY
SURROGACY IS WHEN ANOTHER WOMAN, KNOWN AS THE SURROGATE, CARRIES A BABY TO TERM ON BEHALF OF COUPLES MEDICALLY UNABLE TO DO SO THEMSELVES
The Children’s Act, passed by Parliament on April 1, 2010, contains the legislation relevant to surrogacy. Look for more details under the SA Law section on this website. Surrogacy may be appropriate in the event a medical condition makes it impossible or dangerous for a woman to fall pregnant and give birth.
