OVULATION TRACKING & TIMED INTERCOURSE
Research has shown that by timing sex correctly, it’s possible to signaficantly boost your chances of conception, dramatically speeding up the time it takes to get pregnant.
We can monitor the growth of the egg in your ovary during your menstrual cycle, calculating the optimal time your and your partner should have intercourse for the best chance of conception. This approach is inexpensive, and we and other fertility specialists globally have seen great success in younger patients, up to age 35.
This is especially effective in women who cannot work out their own time of ovulation as a result of irregular periods. This is not an option, however, for couples with already diagnosed infertility problems such as blocked tubes or poor sperm quality.
When Should You Have Sex?
When you are trying to conceive, it’s important to know that there are times in your menstrual cycle when you are more fertile than others. Fertile days occur around the time of ovulation, but these vary from woman to woman depending on the length and regularity of the menstrual cycle. For women with a 28-day cycle, ovulation usually occurs between day 13 and day 15. Once an egg is released, it can be fertilised for only the following 12 to 24 hours, before it dissolves. Sperm can however stay alive in the body for three to five days. Consequently, a woman is fertile for about five to seven days.
Best Time to Conceive?
Because a woman’s egg only lasts 24 hours at the most, and sperm last several days in the human body, the best time to have sex to get pregnant is a few days before ovulation should occur. Couples should begin having sex five days before the woman is expected to ovulate, and one day following ovulation. Couples should have sex at least every second day during this time.
